Competition Duration

• The competition runs from January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026.

• Participation is free for guests staying and diving with Bastianos Dive Resorts during this period.

Eligibility

• Photographs must be taken during your stay and diving experience with Bastianos Dive Resorts between January 1, 2026, and December 31, 2026.

• A maximum of one entry per category per month is allowed per participant.

Categories

• Macro: Photos that show a narrower angle of view than the human eye, capturing subjects at life-size or greater magnification, typically smaller than 6 inches, using lenses with a focal length greater than 35mm.

• Wide Angle: Photos that show a wider angle of view than the human eye, showcasing a broader perspective (e.g., over-under shots, close-focus wide-angle). Stitched panoramas are not allowed.

Prizes

• Two final winners (1 winner per category) will receive 7 nights of full-board accommodation (at our highest room category - subject to availability) and 6 days of diving (12-day dives total with FREE Nitrox - for nitrox certified) at Bastianos Dive Resorts.

* Prizes inclusion: fullboard accommodation and diving. Prizes exclusion: air ticket, transfers, equipment

3. Ensure you meet the minimum age requirement of 18 years old.

4. Submit only underwater photographs taken during your stay in 2026.

5. Upload your photograph to our Facebook Group with the following caption:

   • Image Tittle

   • Category

   • Your Name

   • Date of Stay at Bastianos Dive Resorts

6. All entries will be reviewed by Bastianos for caption accuracy and eligibility before approval for public voting.

3. All entries will be reviewed by Bastianos for caption accuracy and eligibility before approval for public voting.

4. Pictures will be posted in the Bastianos Dive Resorts Facebook GROUP by Bastianos.

 Monthly Competition Format

• Monthly winners are determined by the number of Facebook “Likes” received within the voting period.

• Deadline for monthly submissions: Last day of the month.

• Monthly voting: All submissions will be released or posted by Bastianos on Day 5 of each month.

• Voting Period: Day 5 until the end of the month.

• Monthly winners: will be announced on Day 1 of the following month on our Facebook Page.

• One winner will be chosen per category each month:

  • Best Macro of the Month

  • Best Wide Angle of the Month

Jury’s Pick

For our second annual contest we have decided to add a Jury’s pick to the final Jury pool to also honour amazing photographs that did not advance into the final pool through public voting.

• At the end of the competition the jury will select one picture per category from the non-winning entries.

• Jury’s Picks also advance to the final judging pool for their respective categories.

Submission Guidelines

• Only one entry per month per category is permitted.

• Entries must not have previously won any other photographic competition.

• Photographs must not breach wildlife laws or animal welfare standards. Any irresponsible photography will result in disqualification.

• AI-generated images are strictly prohibited.

• Photographs must retain embedded metadata (EXIF information). Entries without metadata may be disqualified.

• Watermarked images will not be accepted and will be disqualified.

Winner Limitations

• Any participant may win only one category per month.

• If a participant submits two winning photos in a single month (one in each category):

• The photo with the higher number of likes will be eligible to win.

• The other photo does not advance to the jury pool. Re-entry of this photo is not permitted.

Exception: If the second picture is the only eligible picture in its respective category, winning both categories in the same month is possible.

• Each participant may only have three (3) pictures per category in the final jury pool.

• Over the entire year, each participant may have a maximum of six (6) images in the final jury pool:

• Three images for Macro

• Three images for Wide Angle

Terms and Conditions

By submitting images to the 2026 Bastianos Underwater Photo Competition, participants confirm and agree to the following:

• Each submission is the participant’s original work, and they are the sole author of the entry.

• The participant must own all rights and intellectual property associated with the image.

• The image has or may not be licensed or submitted elsewhere in a way that conflicts with its use by Bastianos Dive Resorts.

• Bastianos Dive Resorts may use the image in their marketing materials with full credit to the owner.

• Winners and commended photographers agree to participate in reasonable publicity, including the use of their names and images for promotional purposes.

Important Notes

• All participants are encouraged to ensure ethical and responsible practices when capturing underwater images.

• Bastianos Dive Resorts reserves the right to remove or disqualify any entry at their discretion.

• Bastianos Dive Resorts may modify or update these rules if necessary; any changes will be published officially.
